Rose Steindel Rutkowski, 88, of Old Forge entered eternal rest on Thursday, October 10 at Lackawanna Health & Rehabilitation Center, Peckville. Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Mary Rudolph Steindel. Throughout the years, Rose worked for Supermarket Services, Dunmore and was self-employed as a hairdresser. She looked forward to her summer long vacations on Lake Ontario. Surviving are two sons, David and wife, Vanessa; Old Forge and Edward and wife, Iva, of Dalton; a daughter, Patricia Rutkowski and spouse, Mary Beth Russell, Jefferson, New Hampshire; three grandchildren, Joseph Rutkowski and wife, Patricia, Rome, NY; David Matthew Rutkowski, Old Forge and Marie D’Amico and husband, Bill, Oklahoma; six great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Joseph, a grandson, Robert Rutkowski; five brothers, Robert, Leo, Francis, Joseph and Edgar Steindel and three sisters, Ella Tunney, Mary Markowski and Florence Vogelbacher. Family and friends are invited to attend Rose’s funeral, which will begin on Monday, October 21, at 9:15 am from the Semian Funeral Home, 704 Union St. Taylor followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Ann’s Basilica, 1251 St. Ann’s St. Scranton. Entombment Cathedral Mausoleum. Friends may call Sunday 2 pm to 5 pm.
