Debra R. Lewczuk, affectionately known as “Debbie" and “Bea” to her friends and family, of Moosic, entered eternal rest on Wednesday at her home.
Born in Scranton, she was one of two children born to the late Michael Sr. and Amelia Krolikowski Lewczuk and was a graduate of Riverside High School, class of 1973, where she was a basketball and softball standout. Shortly after high school graduation, Debbie began her banking career, first working for Northeast National Bank. For 47 years, she helped people achieve their financial goals, and retired in 2020 from PNC Bank, where she was the senior financial consultant, senior vice president.
She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Nicholas of Myra Byzantine Catholic Church, Old Forge. Debbie was a vivacious woman who was known to be the life of the party, was always impeccably dressed and was meticulous in her home. Her family was the center of her life and she immensely adored her great-niece, Molly and her great-nephew, Christian. She enjoyed fishing, going to the casino and was an excellent cook. Although her presence will be deeply missed, there is much joy in knowing she is reunited in heaven with her mother and her father.
Surviving are a brother, Michael Jr. and his wife, Norita, Peckville; a niece, Kelly Conway and her husband, Kevin; a nephew, Michael Lewczuk and his wife, Dr. Jennifer Yeselavage Lewczuk, all of Archbald; a great-niece, Molly Conway; a great-nephew, Christian Conway; and many cherished friends.
Family and friends are invited to attend Debbie’s viewing, which will be held on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Semian Funeral Home LLC, 704 Union St., Taylor. A Parastas service will be held at 4 p.m. Debbie’s funeral will begin on Monday at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home, followed by Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m. in St. Nicholas of Myra Byzantine Church, 140 Church St., Old Forge, by the Rev. Eduard Shestak. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Old Forge.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that in her memory, memorial contributions may be made to St. Nicholas of Myra Church.
