Dolores "Dee" Mascaro, 77, of Scranton, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at Riverside Nursing Home. She was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Robert Mascaro, who Passed away December 11, 2002.
Born in Chester Pennsylvania on December 14, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Walter P. and Mary Agnes Murray Onyshczak and was educated in the Scranton School district. Throughout her life, Dee worked as a barmaid making many lifelong friends and acquaintances.
Along with her busy work schedule, she was a loving mother and grandmother to not only her own children but to the children she had taken into her care as a foster mother. She had a "Big Heart" and always gave to those that were in need no matter the circumstances.
In her free time, she was an avid crochetier and talented crafter, and loved to do all kind of crafts. One of her biggest loves was fishing, just say the word and she was ready.
To her children, Dee had a special magical wand and throughout the years, she used that magic to help them through their troubles in life. She would use that magic at every Christmas, providing her children and her family with a Christmas that was so magical and filled with love. Just when they thought it was the magical wand, it was not, it was the love she had for her children, she was the magic wand. It was the love of a special beautiful strong women- MOM, who will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her three daughters; Robin Gnall and husband, Dave; Lori Wolk-Ettinger and husband, Randy; Jodi White and husband, Toby; a son, Ivan Mascaro; five grandchildren, David and Kevin Gnall, Joshua Wolk, Justin and Hanna White; a sister, Mary Agnes Staples and husband, Barry; two nephews Keith Onyshczak, and Kenneth McGuire and two great nieces, Emily and Breanna Onyshczak.
Dee's family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Compassionate Care Hospice and the Riverside Nursing Center, second floor for their care and compassion given to their mom.
A private viewing and funeral service was held for immediate family and interment was in Cathedral Cemetery.
