Obituary

Donald J. Pregmon, 85, of East Mountain, passed away after a brief illness on Wednesday at Allied Hospice, surrounded by his loving children. The love of his life for 59 years, Jeanne M. Conroy Pregmon, passed away July 4, 2019.

Born in Scranton, he was the only child of William "Daisy" and Mary Studnicki Pregmon and was a 1956 graduate of Scranton Technical High School. Donald served our country with the United States Army and was stationed in the Panama Canal. Until its closing, he spent his career at RCA/Thompson Electronics, Dunmore, in which he established many longtime friendships with his coworkers. A devout Catholic, he was a longtime member of Holy Name Parish. Following the consolidation of his church, he became a member of St. Peter's Cathedral.

Donald enjoyed golfing, bowling, skiing, going to auctions with friends and was a sports enthusiast, of which his favorite teams were the Boston Red Sox and Celtics and the Denver Broncos. Family was the center of Donald's life, and he cherished every moment he shared with his loved ones. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and he reveled in each of their accomplishments. He will always be remembered for his contagious smile, enjoying a good bloody Mary and his many crafts with corks.

The Pregmon family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Dr. Mary Ann McDonald, Allied Hospice and the staff of the Geisinger Community Medical Center, ICU, gratefully acknowledging Adrianna at GCMC and Gary at Allied Hospice for their care and compassion shown to them.

He is survived by three daughters, Mary Theresa Gilhooley and Mark Jones; Patricia Morgan and husband, Mark; and Jeanmarie Moleski and husband, John; a son, Donald and wife, Judy, all of Scranton; 10 grandchildren, Maeve and Celene Gilhooley; Michael and Maura Morgan; Mary and Lily Moleski; Danielle, Aaron, Claudia and William Pregmon; and his dear friends, as well as his niece and nephews.
