Doris (Malley) Cioch

February 9, 1934 ~ March 22, 2021 (age 87)


Doris Malley Cioch, 87, formerly of Taylor, entered into eternal rest on Monday at Brookside Wellness and Rehabilitation Center, Castle Rock, Colorado. Her beloved husband, Joseph J. Cioch, passed away Aug. 22, 2008, and together they celebrated 53 years of marriage.

Born in Taylor, she was the daughter of the late John and Theresa Havrilko Malley. Doris graduated salutatorian of her class at Taylor High School in 1952. She worked at Purdue University as an executive assistant to the founder of the Restaurant Hotel Management Institute.

Doris provided her husband and two children with unconditional support throughout their life journeys. Her strength, organizational skills and encouragement behind the scenes sustained her family and contributed greatly to their success. An avid gamer, it was rare to find Doris without cards, puzzles or sudoku in front of her. She loved to crochet and did so with perfection. Doris always spoke fondly about her childhood memories in Taylor and forever considered it her home.

Surviving are a daughter, Susan Miles and her husband, Ric Miles, Castle Rock, Colo.; a son, John Cioch and his wife, Sara West, Roanoke, Texas; three grandchildren, Taylor Miles-Behrens, Berlin, Germany; Shelby Miles, Denver, Colo.; and Riley Cioch, San Antonio, Texas; two sisters, Marie Wielebinski and Eleanor Muncie, South Carolina; and seven nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Ann Iacavazzi.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Doris's funeral service Friday, April 2nd, beginning at 12:00 p.m. in St. George's Orthodox Church, 743 S. Keyser Ave., Taylor by Very Rev. Mark Leasure, her Pastor.  Burial will follow in St. George's Orthodox Cemetery.
In keeping with Federal, State, and Diocesan guidelines, those attending the viewing and/or Funeral Service are required to wear a facial covering and observe social distancing.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made to your local American Cancer Society.
