Dorothy (Morosky) Fetchina, 92, of Scott Twp., entered into eternal rest after a brief illness Friday, July 16, in Lewisburg, with her family present. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph in 2017, and his passing marked the end of 68 years of marriage.
Dorothy was born April 5, 1929, to Anna (Hubiak) and John Murawsky. She was a graduate of Olyphant High School and was proud to tell family and friends that she never missed a single day of school. In addition to being a full-time mother and caring for various family members, she was employed as a manager of the license department at AAA of Northeastern Pennsylvania until her retirement.
She was a lifelong member of St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church in Olyphant and was strongly involved in many church activities, including the choir and St. Mary's Sisterhood. Her devotion to her faith was seen in her everyday life and in her joy of living. She will be remembered for being a great baker who loved to generously share with all those around her.
She is survived by two daughters, Matushka Kyra F. Nightingale and her husband, the Rev. John of South Abington Twp., and Tamara F. Persing and her husband, James of Lewisburg, as well as two grandchildren, Johanna Persing of Washington, D.C., and William Persing of New York, N.Y. Additionally, she is survived by two sisters, Sonya Wirhanowsky of Hackettstown, N.J., and Sylvia Dreater of Dallas.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Peter.
