George Badner, 74, of Jefferson Twp., entered into eternal rest on July 22, peacefully at his home.
George was born on July 10, 1947, son of the late George and Anna (Andracky) Badner and was a graduate of West Scranton High School, class of 1965. A United States Army Veteran, George honorably served his country for two years in the Vietnam War. During his years of service, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal. Upon his honorable discharge on Jan. 16, 1968, he had attained the rank of Specialist 4th Class. Before his retirement, George was a registered nurse, having worked at Mercy Hospital. He graduated from Scranton State General Hospital School of Nursing in 1974.
Throughout his life, George enjoyed collecting antiques and Lionel trains.
He is survived by one brother, James T. Badner and wife, Peggy, of Elizabeth City, North Carolina; nieces and nephews.
