Helen Skutnik Golembeski, 98, of Scranton, died peacefully at home on Wednesday evening with her daughter at her side.
Born in Passaic, New Jersey to the late John and Kamille Nowik Skutnik, she settled in the Minooka section of Scranton. Educated in Scranton schools she worked at various diverse jobs including a milliner at Scranton Dry and managing S&H Green Stamps.
Surviving are her daughter, Rosemarie Archer, with whom she resided; eight grandsons and many great grandchildren; a sister, Dolores Laskowski, Moosic; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, a daughter and son-in-law, Christine and Leonard Bobbick, three brothers Edward, John, and Henry Skutnik, and a grandson Christopher Bobbick.
Helen lived for 98 years on this earth when Jesus finally came, held her by the hand and took her home, where so many are waiting for her and so much happiness.
God and her family were the center of her world. If at any time she touched your life please think of her, smile and say a prayer - we know she will smile back and say a prayer for you.
Family and friends are invited to attend Helen’s Mass of Christian Burial, which will be held on Monday at 12:10 at Divine Mercy Parish, 312 Davis St. Scranton. Interment will follow in St. Mary Czestochowa Cemetery, There will be no calling hours.
