James, affectionately known as "Jimmy" Sylvester, 52, of Port Orange, Fla., entered eternal rest on Sunday, Aug. 15, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Montclair, N.J., he is the son of Anelaine Potkul Sylvester and the late James Sylvester and was a graduate of ECLC School, Chatham, N.J. After high school, Jimmy worked for Acme Markets for more than 10 years. In 2002, he and his family moved from Hopatcong, N.J. to Port Orange. He was his mother's "shotgun" and enjoyed shopping with her. When it came time for vacation, Jimmy and his family always made it a point to visit one of the Major League Baseball stadiums. A kind and gentle person, Jimmy loved to send cards, especially when someone he loved was ill or celebrating a special occasion and he always selected the perfect card. Jimmy will be dearly missed by his family, but his memory will live on in their hearts.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a brother, Jon, of Port Orange, aunts and cousins.
