Obituary

John Praschak Jr., 93, formerly of Taylor, entered into eternal rest on December 24, 2021 at his home in Cincinnati, Ohio. His beloved wife, the former Barbara L. Baker Praschak, passed away August 1, 2000, and together they were married for 49 years.
Born in Taylor, on June 3, 1928, he was one of twelve children, born to the late John Sr. and Mary Obal Praschak. John was a graduate of Taylor High School, class of 1946 and shortly after high school, he proudly served our country with the United States Army, attaining the rank of sergeant. Prior to his retirement, John was a loss control manager with American General Insurance. He was a lifelong parishioner of St. George's Orthodox church, Taylor. Each year, he was very faithful to celebrate Pascha at his beloved church. He enjoyed bowling, coaching his sons' baseball teams, watching sports and westerns. He was a generous philanthropist to many charities that included the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, The Priests of the Sacred Heart Monastery, Shriners Hospital and several Indian Schools.
Surviving are three sons; Jeff Praschak and wife, Lynne of Cincinnati, OH; John G. Praschak and wife, Jo of Milford, Ohio; Mark Praschak of New Bern, NC; grandchildren; one brother, Theodore and wife, Diane, Taylor; two sisters, Sonia Fedor and husband, Walter and Eleanor DeMarzo, all of Taylor. Nieces and Nephews.
John was preceded in death by four brothers, Walter, Paul, Joseph and Michael and four sisters, Alice Kristunas, Carol Secor, Marie Bergamino and Jane Guzek.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend John's funeral on Tuesday, January 4th, beginning at 8:45 a.m. from the Semian Funeral Home, 704 Union St., Taylor, followed by services at 9:30 a.m. in St. George's Orthodox Church, 743 S. Keyser Ave. Taylor.  Burial will follow in St. George's Orthodox Cemetery, Ransom Township.  Friends may call Monday, January 3rd, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
