John E. Vince of Duryea entered into eternal rest Monday at Mountain View Care Center. His beloved wife, Frances Nykaza Vince, passed away Oct. 29, 2015.
Born in Taylor, he was the son of the late John and Anna Kimak Vince. He was a graduate of the Taylor High School class of 1959. A United States Marine Corps veteran, John proudly served his country during the Vietnam War and was awarded numerous medals and citation. John worked for Conrail and retired from New Jersey Transit. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Church in Taylor before its closing. He was a member of the American Legion Post 306 and a social member of St. George's Club.
Surviving are his two daughters, Melissa Scaramastro and husband, Anthony, Duryea; Linda Atkinson and husband, Glenn, Elizabethtown; a grandson, Matthew Stetz; sister, Geraldine Sesok, Vineland, N.J.; in-laws, Ann Marie, Stella, Paul, Joe and their families; nieces, nephews and cousins.
John's best companions were his dogs, Jingles and Joy. He never missed their "schnack time."
A private family service will be held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemtery, Old Forge. Arrangements and care provided by Semian Funeral Home LLC, 704 Union St. Taylor
