Joseph Yackobovicz Jr., 69, of Taylor, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Taylor, he was the only son born to the late Joseph Sr. and Susan Dorin Yackobovicz. He attended Taylor schools and retired from Taylor Borough, Department of Public Works, where he worked for more than 35 years. Throughout the years, Joe enjoyed hunting, fishing and fixing hot rod cars.
Surviving are two sisters, Mary Ann Domin, Dickson City; and Deborah Pierce, Taylor; a daughter, Brandy Marie Phillips and grandson, Christian Skurka, both of Taylor; a dear friend, John Gawel, who Joe considered him a brother, and his wife, Rose, who went above and beyond in helping them this past week; nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial gathering will be held on Monday from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Semian Funeral Home LLC, 704 Union St., Taylor, followed by a memorial service at 6 p.m. Please visit the website to share memories or extend condolences.
