Obituary

Laura A. Branas Wesolowski, 56, of S. Abington Township entered eternal rest on Thursday evening. She is survived by her husband, Henry J. and on May 14, they would have celebrated their thirty third anniversary.

Born in Queens, New York, she was the daughter of the late Lorraine M. Scoda Branas Shrive and stepfather, Clinton Shrive. Laura was a graduate of Old Forge High School, class of 1982; subsequently devoted 39 years of service as a manager to McDonald's Restaurant. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Snows Church, Clarks Summit.

Laura loved to travel, and she was blessed to visit countless places with her family. Whether it be a cruise, a day trip, or a simple ride in the car, she found happiness in seeing all this world had to offer. Laura was blessed with the gift of decorating and making arts and crafts. Family was the greatest joy in Laura's life. As a wife, she was a living example of how love can conquer any obstacle in life, and the devotion she had for her husband was selfless and unwavering. As a mother, she was the epitome of everything a Mom should be. She found great joy and satisfaction being in the service of others as she devoted her life to placing the needs of others above herself.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters; Gretchen and significant other, Allen Krotzer, Scranton and Heather, at home; a grandson, Elijah; a sister, Linda J. Branas, Monroe Township; two brothers; Frank Branas, of Monore Township and Christopher Shrive, Old Forge; an aunt, Florence Rieder, Taylor; many nieces and nephews and cousins.
