Olga (Kazakewitz) Anderson

June 21, 1929 ~ September 27, 2021 (age 92)

Olga Kazakewitz Anderson, 92, of Philadelphia, entered into eternal rest on Monday, September 27, 2021, at Schuylkill Medical Center, East, Pottsville, PA. Her beloved husband, of 64 years, Joseph K. Anderson, passed away, July 19, 2016.

Born in Rahway, NJ, on June 21, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anastasia Lapitsky Kazakewitz. She attended Rahway schools and Newark Preparatory School. She truly enjoyed working as a medical stenographer/secretary at St. Barnabas Hospital, Newark. She was a Sunday School teacher and active in young people's work at her home parish of St. John the Baptist. Olga and Joe met one summer at ROVA Farms in Cassville, NJ; a place that their children would grow up visiting and continue to cherish all of these fond memories.

Olga and Joe were married on October 20, 1951, in St John the Baptist Russian Orthodox Church by Rev. W. Basil Stroyen. They made their home in Philadelphia, where Olga continued as a medical stenographer at Presbyterian Hospital until they started their family.

As much as she enjoyed the variety of life in the city, she was happiest spending summers with the kids at her parent's small farm in Jackson, NJ. There her "city kids" grew to love the quiet life of living out in the country; enjoying adventures and exploring the woods in addition to the many miles of afternoon walks with the children. These were the memories she was most fond of.

She is survived by two sons, Stephen and wife, Cynthia, Westport, Massachusetts; and Timothy and wife, Angela, Philadelphia; two daughters, Matushka Natalie D. Jadick and husband, The Very Reverend James M., Holy Ascension Orthodox Church, Frackville; and Barbara D. Wilson and husband, Reader Thomas, Hazelton; eight grandchildren, Matthew J. Jadick, Christina Barnes, Rebecca Anderson, Rachel Roberts, Megan Barbosa, Molly Pavao, and James and Stephen Wilson; ten great grandchildren; and a cherished niece, Janet Gwiazda.

A son, Mark; two brothers, Anthony and William; a nephew, William; and two nieces, Dorothy and Catherine preceded her in death.

The funeral will be held Sunday, October 3 at 3:00 p.m. in Holy Ascension Orthodox Church, 209 S Lehigh Ave, Frackville, PA 17931, by the Very Reverend James M. Jadick, son-in-law. Interment will be in St. Vladimir's Orthodox Cemetery, Jackson, New Jersey on Monday at 11:00 a.m.
