Robert J Mancabelli

March 7, 1934 ~ November 14, 2020 (age 86)


Robert J. Mancabelli, 86, formerly of Moosic and a resident of Elan Gardens, South Abington Twp., died Saturday, Nov. 14. His wife, Antoinette Dombroski, with whom he shared a joyful, loving marriage for 56 years, died July 27, 2016.
Robert was born in Iselin, Pa., and he was the son of the late Joseph and Cecelia (Cavalier) Mancabelli. He is survived by two sons, Jeff Mancabelli and his wife, Tracie, and their children, Nicholas, Alexa and Leah; and Rob Mancabelli and his wife, Gayle Allen. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Mancabelli; and he is survived by his brother’s wife, Margery S. (Shirley) Mancabelli. Also surviving him are his nieces, Linda Gaggioli, Bear Creek; Sandra Davis and husband, Mark, Scranton.
Robert met his wife in Scranton in 1956, and they fell in love at first sight. They married in 1959 and lived in western Pennsylvania for over a decade, before returning to Northeastern Pennsylvania to build a house in Moosic in 1972.
Robert was an engineer in his thinking, and he served in the management of several equipment corporations over the course of his career. A kind and generous man, he enjoyed helping others with his talents and skills. He was also a proud and active member of St. Mary’s of Czestochowa Church for many decades.
He loved his three grandchildren, and he enjoyed traveling to visit them in Washington, D.C. Robert also enjoyed playing cards with friends, coin collecting and traveling to destinations such as Italy and Las Vegas. He shared these activities with a circle of inseparable friends who have known each other for more than 50 years and whom he loved very dearly.
Finally, the Mancabelli family wishes to graciously acknowledge the staff of Elan Gardens for the unparalleled care shown unto him. They enhanced his quality of life very much.
A private family viewing will be held at the Semian Funeral Home LLC, 704 Union St., Taylor, followed by Rite of Committal, St. Mary Czestochowa Cemetery, Greenwood section of Moosic, by the Rev. Francis L. Pauselli.
A memorial Mass will be held later, when social distancing is permitted.
